Last month, an update on Ark Survival Evolved’s Steam page said that the Xbox One release of the game was ‘imminent’. Well it turns out that those words rang true, as the game has been dated for this month.
Coming December 16th, Xbox One owners will be able to take part in the game preview program for Ark Survival Evolved. What this means is that although the game will not be a retail release, it will be cheaper and allow players the opportunity to play the game while it is still in development. This way, Studio Wildcard will be able to fine tune the experience before its official release, tidying up any bugs that are encountered, and test out different aspects of the game on a live community.
The game will officially launch in June of 2016, but you can jump on it from December 16th, for the tempting price of $34.99. Expect the game to cost a little more than that at launch. It is said that on the PC version, the map is 36km² in size, and that servers can host upwards of 100 people. Whether this figure will be possible on console is to be seen, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was limited to a figure of 32 or thereabouts.
