Are Sony going to bring back Crash Bandicoot?

crash bandicootAt this weekend’s New York Toy Fair 2016, NECA Toys’ Randy Falk showed off a few of their upcoming action figure and merchandise toy lines, while also mentioning the name Crash Bandicoot.

While all of the shown off figures look amazing, such as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the Contra figures, Uncharted, God of War and Little Big Planet, it’s at the 4:10 mark or so when Randy Falk mentions that Sony are bringing back Crash Bandicoot, despite the fact that nothing official has been announced yet.

The last Crash Bandicoot release from the main series was in 1998 with Crash Bandicoot: Warped followed by Crash Team Racing in 1999. A follow up is certainly overdue, while it’s understandable why it was put on the sidelines, with Naughty Dog focusing on Uncharted and The Last of Us for the past few years.

We have no idea in what way Sony will bring Crash Bandicoot back, if they are even doing so, but will it be a return to the much loved 3D platforming, or will they try something new and different? What would you want to see from a new Crash?
