Great news this week for flight sim fans, as Bandai Namco have announced that Ace Combat 7 won’t be tied down by platform exclusivity deals this time around. You can expect to see the story-based aerial combat title hitting PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam, which is fantastic news for everybody.
Having said that, it has been a long time since I have played an Ace Combat title, even if the last one did release on the Xbox 360, I just never got around to it. It’s the hardship of sequels and prequels being on platforms you don’t own; you can’t keep up and eventually fall out. Hopefully this one helps bring back a few players considering that flight sims aren’t so prevalent these days.
Ace Combat 7 will also support PlayStation VR, and who knows, maybe Oculus Rift on Steam? The game will feature a narrative driven story campaign which fans have grown accustom to, as well as an online competitive mode to show your dominance in the skies above.
Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown will release some time in 2017, but nothing specific has been said otherwise. Cue the Top Gun theme!
