Wargaming.net have decided that the time has come to remove the Jagdtiger from World Of Tanks. With the release of Version 9.10, German tank destroyer, the 8,8 cm Pak 43 Jagdtiger will disappear from the in-game store and the German tech tree. The vehicle will remain in the Premium Shop for an additional 2 weeks, after which it will be removed from the shop as well.
Even though the vehicle will be removed from sale, every player who owns and has it in their garage at the time of the removal will keep it. Also, the tank may return to the game at a later time as part of special Premium Shop bundle, contest prize etc.
It seems the 8.8 cm Pak 43 Jagdtiger is going the same way as the E25. Due to its popularity it is making the game unbalanced which is what happened with the E25 last year. As it being a gold tank it was used as a great tool to make free experience and silver to help research and acquire tanks from any nation more quickly. Clearly this made the tank very popular and due to the number of people using it has made the game unbalanced even though on the PC you have matches which are 15V15.
Tank Destroyers such as the 8.8 cm Pak 43 Jagdtiger usually have great frontal armour but lack maneuverability which makes them very risky in certain situations and don’t react well to being flanked. The 8.8cm Pak 43 Jagdtiger itself isn’t a fast tank and if being used in the open (never do this) is a large target for artillery if spotted.
Every duty has its limit and every watch has its end – farewell, steel friend!
